We obtain our highly pure astaxanthin directly from a producer in Hawaii, where it is extracted from the blood rain algae and cultivated in regularly controlled pure spring water. Since astaxanthin, just like related carotenoids, is very poorly soluble in water, we dissolve the astaxanthin in flaxseed oil, which significantly increases its bioavailability. Unlike other brands, our astaxanthin contains no additives besides 12mg of the active ingredient dissolved in flaxseed oil. We also do not use any animal or synthetic substances for the capsule shell, such as gelatine, carrageenan and PEG, which are mostly used - but only glycerine obtained from coconut (free from palm oil), biogenic osmosis water and vegetable starch.
The blood rain algae (Haematococcus Pluvialis), from which our astaxanthin is extracted in Hawaii, is a microalgae that is known for its impressive red colour. Responsible for this colouration is the carotenoid astaxanthin, a natural protective substance of the alga, which it produces increasingly under difficult living conditions. It is one of the strongest antioxidants on earth, 6000x stronger than vitamin C and 800x stronger than Q10.
We do not use any animal or synthetic substances such as gelatine, carrageenan and PEG for the capsule shell. Instead, we only use glycerine obtained from coconut (free from palm oil), biogenic osmosis water and vegetable starch.
