BEWARE OF ADDICTION: VEGAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL PROTEIN BARS

BEWARE OF ADDICTION: VEGAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL PROTEIN BARS

You'll love them - Lena's vegan chocolate caramel protein bars are like a natural alternative to well-known industrial bars from the candy shelf and are not only 100% plant-based, sustainable and, unlike the supermarket variety, free from palm oil, they also contain a good portion of protein for a clear conscience 😃🤤

Preparation time: 15 minutes plus prep time, 3 servings.

Ingredients

For the biscuit layer:

For the caramel layer:

  • 165 grams dates
  • 1 tbsp white or brown almond paste
  • 1/2 tsp bourbon vanilla
  • 45 ml water
  • 100 grams chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Preparation

First soak the dates in hot water for about 10-15 minutes. It is best to let them soak overnight. Then pour off the water and start with the biscuit layer.

Put the dates, almonds, maple syrup, Vegan Muscle powder and water into a blender and puree. Press the dough into a mould and chill.

Now put the dates with the almond paste, vanilla, salt and water into the blender and puree until a caramel consistency is reached. It doesn't matter if the dates are not perfectly chopped, it gives the bars a nice kick.

Pour the caramel mixture onto the biscuit layer and place in the freezer. In the meantime, melt the chocolate together with some coconut oil.

Once the caramel is slightly frozen, cut into roughly equal pieces and coat them with the chocolate.

Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and either enjoy immediately or store in the freezer.
